Muriel Brown Older, that is,
began her illustrious musical career
at the tender age of 3, dancing a la
Shirley Temple to " The Good Ship
Lollipop" on stage at the Orpheum
Theater in Minneapolis. In the years
since, it is no exaggeration to say
that Muriel has achieved unparalleled
success in a number of roles
and is currently one of the foremost
voice teachers in Northern California.
---- Her first professional stint at 18 was
New York-based Claude Thornhill Big Band as a
vocalist in the group the Snowflakes. Upon her arrival
in the San Francisco bay area, Muriel established herself
as lead actor in highly acclaimed productions of
GUYS AND DOLLS, KISS ME KATE, MAN OF
LA MANCHA and MAME,
She has done extensive work in film and television through
SAG and AFTRA, and voice-over work as well.
She also has the distinction of being the first woman
director of a musical in the first 40 year history of the
Palo Alto Players.
----With all these incredible
achievements, it is as vocal
instructor to literally thousands of fortunate singers
throughout the past 35 years that Muriel has found
her niche. The passion and enthusiasm with which
she excites her students is infectious, and it is to her
credit that she has accepted not only the gifted
or promising students, but all individuals dedicated
to the strengthening and toning of their vocal
